No-cost Leadership Seminar set for Eureka Aug. 12 - 13

A CSFA Leadership Seminar is scheduled for Eureka, August 12 - 13. The seminar includes a Friday evening session and dinner from 6 to 9 p.m. and then an 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. session on Saturday. This vital training is offered at no-cost to volunteer fire and community leaders. The workshop and materials, travel, 2 nights lodging, and per diem for attendees will be reimbursed upon completion of the seminar. This seminar is sponsored by CSFA and funded by a federal SAFER grant.

The key focus of this seminar is empowering fire service leaders and departments. Today’s fire service is faced with many challenges including responding to emergencies, fire department administration, recruitment/retention, marketing and budgeting. Attendees will come away from the class understanding the challenges of managing and leading a department when faced with various obstacles

• BH&H Instructor

• 2015 IAFC Chief of the Year


Chief Jon Oprandy • Fire and EMS Service for 30 years

• Deputy Chief of Administration with Albemarle County Department of Fire Rescue

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Service Management & Computer Information Systems

• Life member of Crozet Vol Fire Departmen
