CSFA offers Basic Pump Operations Course at Robbins FD; no-cost for volunteer
firefighters
Robbins Fire Department (Sutter County, 17510 Pepper
Street Robbins, CA 95676 ) is hosting a CSFA-sponsored Basic Pump
Operations (BP0083) Course March 11 and 12. This 16-hour course provides the
student with the information and skills training for operating fire service
pumps. The course is limited to 25 students, who must bring an apparatus from
their agency to train on. There is no-cost to volunteer firefighters. Topics include types of pumps, engine and pump
gauges, maintenance, unsafe pumping conditions, pressure relief devices,
cooling systems, water supplies, drafting, and field hydraulics. Each student
also has the opportunity to increase his or her pumping skills during simulated
