California, in partnership with San Diego Gas and Electric and many CERT partners nationwide, will host a CERT Conference on May 30-June 1, 2019, with preconference training May 27-29, 2019. This conference will focus on four major tenants of the CERT program: Instruction, Innovation, Integration, and Impact.
The CERT Conference will be held at the Paradise Point Hotel & Spa, located at 1404 Vacation Road, San Diego, CA 92109, just minutes away from the San Diego Airport.

We have negotiated a fantastic rate of $140/night at the Paradise Point Hotel. Tourism fees are waived for conference attendees. The conference rate is valid starting Sunday, May 26 through Sunday, June 2, 2019. Daytime parking will be free for local commuters. The overnight parking fee are reduced by 50% to $19/night for those staying at the hotel and have a vehicle.
Registration for the Conference is $350 for early birds (before March 1, 2019). Registration will be $400 after March 1, 2019. A small allotment of discounted registrtion tickets will be available for volunteers and paid staff who are paying their own way to get to the conference. If you select the mail-in check option, you must send your check within 30 days or your registration will be cancelled. You can email email@example.com if you need any special arrangements to pay for your registration.
*Please note that this venue will only allow for 570 or so attendees (70 less than the 2016 conference attendance). Be sure to register early to ensure your ticket.
Agenda and Presenters

Pre-conference will be held offsite near the conference hotel. This will allow us to provide refreshments and lunch at a much lower cost. Pre-conference training cost will be $15 per day (to cover the cost of refreshments and lunch).
The conference planning team is still deciding which courses will be offered during pre-conference training. Likely candidates include:
- L427 CERT Program Manger course (participants will receive a FEMA Certificate)
- L428 CERT Train-the-Trainer course (participants will receive a FEMA Certificate)
- G288 Volunteer and Donations Management
- G489 Management of Spontaneous Volunteers during a Disaster
