DRiSC coalition urges legislative contact

CSFA and all members of the coalition need your participation!

Take five minutes; contact your local legislator!

The threat from more frequent and devastating wildfires, floods and other natural disasters is placing increased stress on first responders, and increasing state costs.

California requires an investment in additional emergency response resources, as well as innovative strategies to prevent and help to pre-empt and mitigate disasters wherever possible.  In the second half of 2017 and January 2018 alone, a series of catastrophic events tested the state's first responders and the capacity and efficiency of California’s mutual aid system.

That's why we need your help -- today!

The legislature is currently considering a state budget proposal that would increase funding for the pre-positioning of resources and personnel, which will enable firefighters to act in the initial minutes and hours of an event with more resources to save lives and property.  Follow the link below to the Disaster Readiness for SAFER Communities (DRiSC) website. Under “Find Officials”, enter your zip code, select your local Assemblymember and State Senator and also Governor Brown, and compose a short note about the importance of increased funding for pre-positioning emergency resources and the need for increased funding in the state budget. Anyone can do this in less than five minutes.
