New CSFA grant program aids local PACs

In an effort to assist CSFA member departments with local political campaigns and activity, the CSFA Political Action Committee (PAC) has launched a grant program. These grants may be used for local elections for candidate support, or issue campaigns (e.g. local bond measures or fire parcel fees). Grants may be only requested by an established fire department Political Action Committee.

For information regarding how to form a PAC contact the CSFA PAC at 800-451-2732 or e-mail the PAC at Applications are completed online by following this link

“The creation of this local grant program by CSFA’s PAC recognizes something that we have always stressed to firefighters in our political education seminars and workshops, ‘all politics is local’ noted CSFA PAC Chair Vern Losh.

Although all completed applications will be reviewed, preference in awarding any grant is given to departments with 75% or larger membership in CSFA. Grant disbursements will be awarded by the CSFA Political Action Committee, and all decisions are final. Overall funding for grants is based on anticipated CSFA PAC budget, and all grants will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.  Once funds are exhausted in a fiscal year; applications will be closed.
