CSFA members access to preventive health screenings that detect risk factors for stroke, cardiovascular disease, atrial fibrillation, and elevated cortisol. These are conditions that can often be addressed before they impact a firefighter’s ability to serve.
Firefighters face higher cardiovascular risks due to the demands and stress of the job, yet an estimated 80 percent of these conditions are preventable.1 Early detection through preventive health screenings can play a key role in protecting firefighters’ long-term health.

Life Line Screening’s firefighter-focused program includes tests for carotid artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, abdominal aortic aneurysm, atrial fibrillation, and stress indicators.
These screenings are a cost-effective way to detect early warning signs so firefighters can take action before conditions become serious.
