The Firefighter Recruitment Section (FRS) is looking for members interested in volunteering as instructors for youth programs like the upcoming Camp S.P.A.R.K (Service, Professionalism, Attitude, Respect, Knowledge) that the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) offers. Camp S.P.A.R.K will be held in February at Drill Tower 81. This rewarding and challenging two-day introductory camp is meant for girls between the ages of 14-18 (however, all youth are welcome to attend). The camp aims to introduce the girls to fire service in an exciting and safe way while instilling confidence, team building, and character development through interactive training exercises. Examples of training exercises include hose lays, ladders, hand tools, power tools, extinguishers, first-aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
