This course provides training in the subject elements required for the CA Urban Search & Rescue basic and light operations level; information for the recognition of unique hazards associated with building collapse or failure; working knowledge of the resources and procedures for performing search & rescue operations inside and beneath debris; and training in the procedures for performing victim extrication operations inside and beneath the debris of light-frame construction. Field training modules include building shoring, lifting and moving of heavy objects, and light frame construction breaching.

A California State Fire Marshal certificate will be issued by State Fire Training (SFT) and can be accessed on your SFT profile. A maximum of 24 students, a minimum of 20 students, are needed 14 days prior to the start date, or it will be canceled.
