UC Riverside researchers seek firefighters for use-of-technology survey

| | |

Take the 10-minute survey; be entered for a chance for one of five $200 gift cards

All firefighters over the age of 18 are invited to participate in a social science survey on firefighters’ use of technology, which is led by Professor Wei Zhao at the University of California, Riverside.

The survey, which will take about 10 minutes to complete, presents a series of questions on firefighters’ work and technologies. By completing the survey you will help the UC Riverside team develop cutting-edge technology with augmented reality (AR), which will enhance the work and safety and benefit the whole community of firefighters.

Participation and Confidentiality: Your participation in this survey is voluntary, and you also have the right to withdraw at any point without any penalty. Your participation and responses will be kept confidential, and the survey data will be anonymous.

Compensation/Drawing: As a token of appreciation of firefighters, once the survey is completed, researchers will randomly draw 5 people from the entire pool and present each of them with a $200 Visa Gift Card. At the end of the survey, you will be given the opportunity to provide your email address and enter the drawing directly. If you discontinue the survey before finishing it, or if you do not want to participate but still wish to be included in the drawing, please feel free to email us at [email protected].

Questions and Contact: If you have any questions, please contact Department of Sociology Professor Wei Zhao ([email protected]) and our research team at the University of California, Riverside via [email protected]. If you have any questions about your rights or complaints as a research subject, please contact the IRB (Institutional Review Board) Chairperson at (951)827-4802 during business hours or contact them by email at [email protected].
